Description:
Baker “A” grade 12 gauge hammerless SxS shotgun. 28” Damascus barrels, bright bores with .012” IC and .035 Full chokes and 2 ½” chambers. The solid rib is milled and tapers slightly from the breech to the muzzle.
Double triggers. Non-automatic safety.
The rounded pistol grip stock has a 14 1/8” LOP to the factory bakelite butt plate; 1 7/8” drop at the comb and 3 ¼” drop at the heel with neutral cast.
Condition wise this is a nice example of a 120+ year old Baker. The wood is original and is still proud of the metal in most areas even though the buttstock finish looks much newer! The checkering is all present but is getting smooth in some spots. The receiver has had the case colors freshened. The receiver has not been polished and all engraving is sharp. The Damascus barrels are in very fine condition.
Without the forearm in place there is some feel of the barrels being slightly off face.
This gun tips the scales at 7 lbs. 15 oz. so it definitely is not a light game gun..but what a fun gun for vintage shooting events!
