SERIAL NO. 136557 (1891). BARREL 5.5".   Respected authority John Kopec in his accompanying letter states the frame was RAC inspected from 1890-91 and issued to the US 7th Cavalry. It also bears all the hall marks of a circa 1903 factory rebuild for the Banana wars. Military issued with US stamped above left side  of trigger. The cylinder and walnut grip also have the RAC stamps. The trigger guard has the sub-inspector S B Lewis "L" stamp and is serial number 16513. Back strap has same number with added 1 in front i.e. 116513. Right grip has 1903 date along with RIC stamp of Renaldo Carr. Left side of frame stamped US. Kopec letter accompanies gun and he goes into some facts on duty in various units, etc. Condition. Fine smooth patina with generous flashes of blue in hidden or protected areas. Legends are sharp. Action works and is functional. Grips are excellent with dings at base. Bore strong and shiny with good riflings. Overall, a clean example with details from noted expert.
