Description:
Here we have a beautiful light sporter DGW bolt action rifle chambered for the classical 7x57 Mauser on a small ring Mauser bolt action. All the metal work has been done by Mark Penrod. The action floor plate and screws were engraved by Eric Gold. The gorgeous stock was built and finished to a high degree of excellence with flawless checkering by Bill Dowtin. Rifle is equipped with a 6X power Zeiss scope.
This rifle has been a favorite and has taken several Elk, Mule Deer, White Tail and Pronghorns. Using a 140 grain Nosler Partition hand load all were one shot kills with ranges from 150 yards on out to 400yards. Weight is 7 and 1/2 pounds making it a delight to carry in the mountains or on the prairie.
The rifle is in excellent condition with 99% blue and 97% wood. There are a few very slight handling marks on the wood stock. The sling pictured is no longer available.
If you are interested in owning a traditional classic this is the rifle you should own.
