Description:
Up for sale is a stunning James Purdey & Sons 12-gauge side by side shotgun made for F.B. Keech, completed on August 29th of 1911. Serial number 20017. This gun comes with two sets of barrels, one set is 26 inches long with no chokes, and the other set pictured on the gun is 29 inches long with full choke on the left, and modified choke on the right. This Purdey has fantastic rose and scroll engraving on the receiver with nearly full coverage. The stock and fore-end on this gun are masterfully crafted with a traditional red stain. The stock is cast off for a right-handed shooter. Featuring Purdey’s self-opening system, dual ejectors, and a Miller single trigger, this is the shotgun to have for a statesman of day’s old and todays discerning sportsman.
The plaque on the inside of the case reads: "James Purdey & Sons, LTD. Gun & Rifle makers. To H.M. The King & H.R.H. The Prince of Wales. Audley House, South Audley Street, London. W."
