R E D U C E D . . . .$100. . . . .Colt Model 1849 Pocket Revolver...HIGH CONDITION....LAYAWAY?... .31 caliber. 5" octagonal barrel. SN: 247621 (mfg. ca1863-64). Blued and color casehardened finish, silver plated brass backstrap and triggerguard, varnished one-piece walnut grip. Single action percussion revolver with six chambered round cylinder. Barrel roll marked in a single line on the top flat: - ADDRESS SAML COLT NEW-YORK U.S. AMERICA -. Lower left front of frame marked in two lines: COLT'S / PATENT, rear leftof triggerguard marked 31 CAL. Matching serial number 247621, or the last four or five digits on all numbered parts, including the wedge and in the backstrap cut out of the grip. Cylinder with most of the Stagecoach Hold Up scene and a clear COLTS PATENT with serial number. A much better than average Colt Pocket produced at the height of the American Civil War.
Condition:
FINE. Barrel with much of the blued finish showing thinning, fading and wear with the largest areas of finish remaining in the protected areas. Very Good bore with strong rifling and scattered pitting including a couple of moderate areas near the muzzle. Loading lever and frame with some traces of case color in protected areas and with a mottled and lightly oxidized brown and gray patina over the balance of those parts. Minutes traces of silver plating present on the brass. Markings clear, mechanically functional. Safety pins mostly worn on the rear of the cylinder. Grip with some varnish remaining and showing scattered bumps, dings and mars, along with a series of small lightly scratched "notches" on the left side.
