Description:
"Offered here is a quite interested example of an Austrian percussion musket. As far as I can tell there is no English literature on these muskets, so I rely on Mr. Tim Prince at College Hill Arsenal for a history of this musket:“The official designation of the musket is the Gewehr Der K.K. Hofburgwache Nach 1854, or rather the Castle Guard Musket after 1854. These smoothbore muskets were produced as a special model for the Austrian palace guards. They were originally manufactured as flintlocks (circa 1838) and were then adapted to the Augustine Consol lock ignition system (aka “tube lock” or “pill lock”) circa 1842. They were subsequently altered to percussion after 1854, the year that Austria adopted the percussion cap as their ignition system.”qent gunsmith before shooting. To buy a gun from me you must get a direct email for me, with details, and shipping cost. We don’t have asite .I prefer money orders or a check. Item ships when funds come in. If you can only pay with a card let me know. I try to keep guns affordable, which means I make less money than most dealers. You won’t get altitude sickness, or nose bleed, with my prices! I consistently have the best selection of older guns If you attempt to buy, you must still contact us for details . Best to email to buy. Sometimes a local person can stop buy and purchase before the gun is removed. Sometimes not home to get calls. Some guns are required shipment to a gun dealer near you for a transfer to you when it arrives. Otherwise many older or black powder guns ship to your door. With the widest selection of older guns at great prices, We don’t have a store, and sell on the internet only. I’m easy to get along with. Thank You.
