Description:
Robbins, Kendall &Lawerence 1841 musket, know as the Mississippi Rifle with a .54 cal bore and well marked lockplate. This gun has seen many years of action, as these was much pitting around the nipple, but the American walnut stock is very, very clean with a clear oval cartouche on the left side. The brass patch box has an owner name stamped with professional die set and called: J. PRATT (worthy of research) Comes with a steel ram-rod and the action works well. Lock[plate and hammer have remains of copper plate often for naval use.Back of lock-plate is WINDSOR VERMONT 184?. Bore has black powder oxidation, amnd is dark, should be clean with a stainless steel brush.
