Description:
This revolver was purchased from an elderly attorney in South Texas. After the purchase I asked about any history he may have on the revolver. He stated the revolver had belonged to his grandfather and provided the following information:

"This Remington 1875 Army in .44 American revolver was carried by Earl  Thomas McMillian (Sr) as a Regulator for the Santa Fe railroad. Earl Sr. died in 1953 in Houston, Texas."

I then said, "so he was in law enforcement." He replied, "he was a murderer." I then said, "he must have been a tough guy." He replied "he was a son of a bitch."
This is a Remington Model 1875 chambered for the Rem 44 centerfire cartridge. The revolver has a 7 1/2" barrel and retains the original factory nickel finish.  This is an early production revolver as indicated by the pinched post front sight, the 44 Rem chambering, early barrel address, early hammer and lanyard ring. The revolver is original including the wood grips and nickel plating.  Mechanically, the revolver is very good and cycles as intended. Cosmetically, the revolver shows some flaking of the nickel primarily on the cylinder as shown in the photos. The grips are very good. The fit of the grips to frame is also very good.
