Description:
This is an extremely well marked ALEXANDER COPPEL DOVES HEAD , matching numbers on scabbard & hand guard. The blade is in above good shape ,and the grip and double wire are in good shape with two strands on the bottom are single, the grip you can see a hair line crack that in my opinion effects nothing .There is some wear on the paint as expected. This is a single hanger, the portapee is worn but not exceeding so, This sword maybe a transition sword , because I believe the Portepee is WW1, that may tell which unit he was from. The early stick eagle 82 is on the hand guard which stamped are early period waffenamts ,which were code for Alexander coppel ,Solingen. On the scabbard is A.C./G/ 3459 WHICH MATCHES THE SWORD GUARD NUMBER. Tiny dent in the scabbard effects nothing. NCO'S SWORD 859-533-5445
