Description:
Heym 3 trigger drilling retailed by Inmann Meffert of Suhl. This drilling uses patent 60215 which is a patent granted to Heym on May 24 1891 for a three barreled hunting rifle with three triggers and three hammers on the same axis. The first interior hammer drilling. These were built at Heym and finished and retailed by many firms in Germany and Austria. This one is a Dural frame treatment with the rifle barrel being the 12.7X76R or .500 Express. The rate of twist and weight of the gun tell me this is a black powder loading with a 3 1/4" shell and a fairly thin rim. There is a stamp on the bottom of the rifle barrel that states .501 Max and the 12.7X76R is engraved rather than stamped. The action is clean and tight on the face with small tight scroll, the rifle trigger is a set trigger, cocking indicators on all three barrels, extraction is very positive, furniture is also dural with the exception of the trigger -guard which is blued, The bottom of the action is marked in an oval with " System Fr Wilm Heym No. 60215 D R Patent". The shot barrels are Damascus with 70mm/ 2 3/4" chambers to proof, 13/1 or .719 proofs on both, the shot barrels are in proof with interior diameters of .719/.719, the shot barrels have areas of thinning brown, bores are unmarked, there is a small, nearly indistinguishable dent on the left barrel below the sight. The rear rifle sight is blued, 5 folded to 500 meters with a small bead front. The rifle barrel is very clean with strong rifling and shows no signs of having been used much. It is steel and Nitro marked, though I believe this to be a very early close loading to black powder pressures. The stocks are pistol and splinter with well done 30LPI chequering that remains in good condition, beautiful drop points, bakelite deco grip cap, 14" length of pull to a trap butt plate. 9lbs 9oz Consignment, please make any offers via email. 05711 NSSSDP $7500.00
