Serial No. 17226, circa 1899-1901, .455, 6"" Army & Navy C.S.L. marked barrel. Approximately 75% blue finish remains with scattered freckling visible throughout. Bore is near excellent with handsome rifling noted. Brown checkered grips show light handling and storage wear. Action functions correctly with a tight lock up.

Serial No. 17200, circa 1899-1901, .455, 6"" Army & Navy C.S.L marked barrel. Revolver looks to have been refinished at some point and has approximately 95% blue remaining Bore is bright with strong rifling visible. Brown checkered grips are very good with minor handling and storage wear visible along the edges. Action functions correctly with a tight lock up.

Wooden case shows slight storage and transport wear on the outside, inside has a handsome ""Army and Navy"" label with screw driver, cleaning rod, oiler and lanyard. These Webley's were purchased by 2nd Lt. George Valentine Dove in March 1901. Dove would fight during the Boer War and would would be sent to France on August 4th 1914 and would be sent back on March 17th 1915 for ""Shell Shock"". Lt Dove would resign from his officer rank due to ill health only to cancel this request two months later and be appointed to the recruiting offices in London. In 1918 he would again relinquish his commission for the same ill health and granted honorary rank of Captain.
