CIVIL WAR ERA COLT MODEL 1849 SMALL GUARD .31 CAL. PERCUSSION 5” POCKET REVOLVER MANUFACTURED IN 1856. All original and matching including wedge in fine condition. Octagon barrel with “ADDRESS SAML COLT/NEW YORK CITY” address on the top flat and frame stamped “COLT’S/PATENT”. Cylinder with extra nice “STAGECOACH HOLDUP” roll die engraved cylinder scene. Barrel and cylinder with 40%original blue mixed evenly with dark original patina. Frame with grey case hardening and the brass straps with much original silver plating. Walnut grips with most or the original finis. Working order and very good nipples and safety pins. Good bore and chambers. Nice early small guard.
