Description:
Super light (6.5lb) restored 23" full stock rifle in the scarce 9x56MS cal with a very unusual English hand stock that looks factory. LOP 14" through replacement checkered steel buttplate. Professional edge repair to forestock. 99% reblue, nice polish job. Strong bore w minor frosting, original 2 leaf sights, drilled and tapped. Safety flag has a white Swiss cross engraved on one side (to indicate which position is safe apparently .. and may indicate the rifle was sold to a Swiss customer as I have seen one other like this.) Rear setting trigger has been removed and blanked, the rest of the mechanism is still there and the front trigger works normally with a nice light letoff.  Brass and ammo available from Buffalo Bore, Qual Cart or Grafs .. requires a .356 dia bullet. Very interesting rifle! Tech note: you can shoot cast 357 magnum bullets through this rifle as a light load; you can also make brass from 8x57 Mauser! Another tech note: normally it's tricky to rebarrel these to an American caliber due to the very slick rotary mag, but the 9x56 will feed 308 Win without modifications to the action or magazine, I have seen that done more than once.
