Description:
Items (as pictured ) include : uniform buttons (Waterbury Ct.), various bullets, musket balls, 1.5 cannister shot,  and 3 bullet in wood impacts beleived to be harvested from the ramparts of General George Thomas's headquarters
One of the impacts has been inscribed " Confererate sharp shooters    Gen. George Thomas headquarters     Near Horseshoe  G.W. Davis"
The writing is faded , but visible under magnification
  General George Thomas was the Union general ,who was praised by president to be James Garfield , (and thus earning the nickname "Rock of Chickamuaga") for his actions ,that prevented a helpless rout of the Union troops during the Battle of Chickamuaga.
 This collection was obtained from the 2nd owner , who has had it in his possession since 1960.
