Description:
This gun is a NIB first generation SIG MCX carbine. It comes in the factory SIG box with all factory included accessories. The MCX is an incredibly lightweight, reliable and accurate carbine, due in part to it's short stroke piston drive system, inherited from the SIG MPX submachine gun. The MCX was designed by SIG Arms in 2015 and this one is 100% factory original without modifications. It has the MCX folding aluminum stock, BUIS (folding front & rear sights) and free floating aluminum handguard with M1913 picatinny rail on top and KeyMod system sides and bottom for mounting accessories. Most controls, except the bolt release, are ambidexterous. The 16" barrel is nitride coated for corrosion resistance. The barrel's profile is tapered at the crown to allow self centering installation of muzzle devices and/or direct thread suppressors without the use of washers (which degrades performance). In addition, the MCX system allows rapid barrel changes to modify the length and/or caliber of the carbine barrel in seconds. This gun is chambered in the 5.56NATO caliber, but can be quickly converted to shoot .300 AAC BLACKOUT or 7.62x39MM. In addition, SIG designed the MCX upper receiver to be compatible with Mil Spec standard AR15 lower receivers through the use of an adapter. In fact, an integrally suppressed version of the MCX upper receiver was selected by USSOCOM in 2018 to be used with the SOCOM M4A1 lower receivers that were already in inventory. This is a very versatile, lightweight, dependable and accurate firearm used by numerous law enforcement and military tactical units throughout the world.
