Description:
Got a Colt 1849 Pocket Revolver .31 Caliber with Stagecoach Scene on the cylinder in box with accessories.
Manufactured in 1859 (according to the Colt Serial Number look up ). The barrel is marked "ADDRESS COL SAML COLT NEW-YORK U.S.AMERICA" on the top flat. The cylinder is roll-engraved with the Stagecoach holdup scene and is marked "COLTS PATENT" above the matching partial serial number "153432". The left side of the frame is marked "COLTS/PATENT" and the left trigger guard shoulder is marked with an "M". There is a small number 2 on the left side just below the barrel. I have no idea what any of that means. Complete matching serial number on the barrel, frame, trigger guard and back strap, partial number "" and "3432" on the loading lever and cylinder. Blue barrel and cylinder, casehardened frame, hammer and loading lever, and silver plated brass trigger guard and back strap and fitted with a one-piece varnished grip. Complete in a brown velvet lined hardwood case with locking lid and five compartments with a double face eagle powder flask, two chamber "COLT'S/PATENT" brass bullet mold, loose bullets, key and a tin of Eley Brothers percussion caps (partially full).
This is the best we can research on this particular piece.
We tried to get pictures of every maker's mark, logo, stamp, cartouche and whatever we could find. Look closely at the pictures as what you see is what you get. Please check the pictures to check condition.
Opinion here, and our knowledge is less than ZERO on these firearms. We tried to get a close of detail as we could. The revolver is functional. The hammer locked backed and released. We did NOT allow it to fall. Just released. Cyllinder rotated and lined up with the barrel as it is supposed to. Also tried to figure out how to remove the cylinder and get some bore and chamber pictures but could not find anything to show me how from a You Tube Video to some one some where detailing it on line. All of the functions are tight and lock up is same. Again. We do not shoot inventory and we DO NOT drop the hammer.

This came from the one of five estates we represent of an FFL/SOT Gun Smith, Gun Store. There will be countless other listings ranging from firearms from antique to modern to custom.
