This is likely the finast example of any many 71's deluxes we've had. it is in over 90% condtion, no carry wear to speak of and still has front site hood and factory bolt peep (the bolt peep alone is wroth hundred). Light fading of blue on right side of mag tube, forend cap and barrel but NOT rusted or pitted....this one is a KEEPER.It has a period correct Jotsom Pad: Serious collectors understand that Winchester equipped some 71's with recoil pads. For those who do not know these were an improved version of the model 86 and were/are considered to be the strongest lever actions ever produced (some 86's were chambered in cal's as big as 50-110) This most 71s were chambered in potent 348 Winchester and at a time when few qaulity sporting bolt guns were avail many if not most of these exceptional guns found their way to Alaska as bear guns. A few were chambered in 45-70 The bonus is this has the BOLT PEEP and FRONT SIGHT HOOD
