- On the face of the bill is “The State of Alabama will pay to bearer One Dollar in sums of twenty dollars and upwards. Redeemable in Confederate States Treasury notes when presented at the state treasury”
- It was issued at Montgomery, Alabama on January 1, 1863 and has the printed signature of Governor Gill Shorter and was engraved by J.T. Paterson and Co., Augusta, Georgia
