Description:
Offered here are three early 1800’s Massachusetts Militia documents.  The first is an unused form for the Annual Return of a Brigade, for the year 180_. The pre-printed form lists the all the ranks, arms, and equipment that would have been used by the General Staff and Field, Regimental, and Company officers.  The number of men in each position would have been filled in, as well as the number of items such as muskets, bayonets, swords, pistols, cannon, etc.  The form measures about 17 inches by 7.5 inches.  The second form, measuring about 9x12 inches, is a blank pre-printed Return of Officers elected to fill vacancies in a Division of the Militia of Massachusetts.  The form would list the name and rank of the newly elected officer(s), regimental and brigade number, branch of service, date of election, residence, and whom they replaced. It would then be signed by the Presiding Officer, Regimental commander, Brigadier General, and Major General.  The final document is a General Order from Head-Quarters, Boston, November 14, 1809, from the Adjutant General regarding the status of annual brigade reviews.  It measures about 8x12 inches.  All three documents are in nice condition considering they are over 200 years old.  Please take a look at all the photos as they provide the best description of condition.  Shipping to the lower 48 contiguous states.  Shipping charge $10 towards cost of Priority Mail with full insurance.  Three day return privilege, buyer pays return shipping.
