Description:
LAYAWAY?......U.S. Model 1836 Pistol by A. Waters... .58 caliber. 8.5" barrel length. SN: NSN. Bright metal finish with brass pan, walnut stocks, and swivel ramrod. Single shot flintlock pistol with iron furniture and a brass front sight blade. The lockplate is marked {Eagle Head}/A. WATERS/MILBURY. MS./1838. The rear barrel is marked U.S./JH/P and shows martial markings including M to mounting plate, H to left barrel flat, and both H and M stamps to triggerguard plate. Two cartouches are visible on the left stock including the LF cartouche of Lewis Foster Jr. and MPL cartouche of Mann P. Lomax.
Condition:
Good... Bore is Dark with patina and oxidation throughout. Metal parts have buffing marks overall indicating it has been cleaned. The wood likewise shows some signs of having been cleaned. There are two spots of wood fill in the right side of the grip. A sizeable walnut shim has been installed to replace the wood surrounding the upper and left edges of the lockplate. There are chips and scratches as well. The action is functional, but a little stiff. 2nd firearm ships FREE with this one!...S/H $30.....Thanks, Greg cp
