Virginia Manufactory 2nd Model flintlock musket dated 1816. These rifles are known as the interim style. Metal has a dark grey patina with scattered pitting noted throughout. Stock is well fit with erosion at the butt-plate. Spurious Confederate markings are noted on the trigger guard. Action is mechanically fine. Bore is smooth and dark. Many of these flintlock muskets were used at the very beginning of the Civil War.
