Description: An important pair of 7 1/2” gold plated Colts with impeccable and historic provenance. These Colts were originally ordered and shipped to the Miller Bros. 101 Ranch in Oklahoma. The revolvers were given to Roy Rogers by Col. Jim Eskew, the noted wild west and rodeo personality. Col. Jim was known as a premier producer of wild west shows and rodeos and was friends with all the stars – Tom Mix, Gene Autry, Hopalong Cassidy, and especially Roy and Dale. Roy is pictured on approximately 20 comic book covers using these revolvers. They were his favorites for showing off. He changed grips on a regular basis, using stag, ivorex, pearlite, plastic, wood, but he liked the pearl-looking grips the best. The Wild West Show, television, movie and print media make these 2 of the most viewed Colts of all time.
