Description:
Nice clean original rifle with near perfect bore, one rough spot about 2/3 way down, (most others are corroded as this was a BP ctg) round (most are half octagon), with original iron sights. Ejector. Bore slugs .254" and twist appears to be 1:12 which is also unusual as most are 1:17. This is not a replacement barrel. Plus a freshly lined and rust blued 22LR sighted round Stevens barrel w new Wisner ejector and very rare see thru front sight, SN very close to this one. Replaced breech block, handles both RF and CF (two firing pins - yes this works). Replaced both link pins with drill rod, oversize lever pin for extra strength. Action is super tight with 25 barrel, snug with 22 barrel. Given all that we made up some brass from 22 Hornet, we made a custom bullet mold with both a HP and a spitzer cavity circa 90gr, bought a set of carbide 25 acp dies to size the Hornet brass. We made up 10 pieces of brass (requires trimming and rim work as well as aforementioned sizing) and also include about 50 pieces of donor hornet brass that you can use to make additional "25 centerfire" brass. All of this included (except mold handles) ... rifle, two barrels, two firing pins, two ejectors, 25 acp dies (not shown in photos), custom bullet mold, custom brass, raw brass, even some cast bullets. So now you can shoot 22 LR, 25 "Short Hornet" all day long! 7 1/4lb of unique vintage fun.
