Description:
"Circa 1821-1840. Eagle head straight edge sword with 31.25"" blade and 37"" overall length. Checkered and fan carved bone handle has a crack going from top to bottom on the right side. Beautiful deep blue remains on two thirds of the blade with etched and gilded foliate noted. A spread winged Eagle with shield is at the center in between the foliate. Light oxidation is noted on the bright parts. Knuckle chain from the Eagles head connects to stacked ball counter guard. Brass scabbard is good with minor wear visible.
