Rare Marlin Original Golden 39AS made in 1998 in .22 caliber lever-action rifle. Serial number 2091248. The nicest wood I have seen on one of these. The furniture has nice wood figure and sharp checkering. This Marlin Original Golden 39AS rifle has seen little use. The bluing is 98+ and the wood has one small scratch on the buttstock.
The Marlin Golden 39AS is one of the all-time classic American rimfire rifles, sought-after by both collectors and shooters alike. This model has been the top-of-the-line lever-action rimfire rifle for the Marlin firm for many decades, and the accuracy, reliability, and build quality have always been the very best. The factory gloss blue finish is bright, beautiful, and pristine, rating 98% plus with no wear or marring. The "Micro-Groove" bore is mirror-bright and pristine, with perfect rifling. The factory smooth American Walnut stock set is in like-new condition as well with one light scratch on the buttstock. Both the forearm and buttstock are free from any cracks, chips, repairs, or visible wear. All of the stock hardware is intact including the black pistol grip cap with a white spacer and the factory-installed Marlin-branded brown recoil pad, including the Marlin Bullseye trademark. The action on this Original Golden 39AS is still tight but smooth, and the bolt and lever lock up into the battery perfectly. All of the controls on this Marlin are in like-new, perfect working order. As you can imagine, the internals in this rifle are just as pristine as the exterior. This rifle will be tough to upgrade.
