Description:
SOLD.       Very nice .44 Target Model of 1950. It is a Pre-Model 24, has a five-screw frame, S prefix, with a 6 1/2" barrel. As pictured, it comes with the original numbered box. This revolver was the continuation of production of the .44 Special revolver. This new version of the .44 Hand Ejector was introduced in September of 1950 at serial number S75000. The serial number of this revolver is S78585. It was shipped the in the fifth month of production on January 11, 1951. Only 5,050 of this version were made. Bore in the 6 1/2" barrel is bright and shiny. Shows very little use with no issues. All markings are clear and original. The original blue finish rates 99%. There is only a very faint turn line on the cylinder. Numbers are all correct and matching where they should. Grips are excellent and show virtually no wear at all. The right grip panel is stamped with the matching number. A very high percentage of the original case color remains on hammer and trigger. Box is excellent as shown in the numerous pictures. This is a very nice Smith & Wesson Target Model. It is nice enough to make a great addition to any collection.  American Arms & Antiques inventory #2972
