FRENCH MODEL 1866 OR M1866 CHASSEPOT RIFLE SABER BAYONET & SCABBARD. 27 1/4" overall with 22 1/2" fullered blade. Blade is very good with original false edge and no dings/chinks. Proofs obscured by some scant salt and pepper and back of blade address missing now. Tight fit to brass handle and steel guard/quillon with serial number(not matching). Good tension on catch spring. Old patina on brass and never cleaned. Original steel scabbard (no dents or kinks)with nice tight fit so does not rattle around and perfect fit. Some flecks of white paint will come right off with some OOOO steel wool.
