   ***   JUST IN FROM THE DICKSON WORKSHOP IN SCOTLAND   ***   Handsome Mortimer & Son boxlock ejector with highly figured nitro Damascus barrels chambered for 2-3/4” shotshells. Loads of residual case coloring, sharp engraving, and well figured stock and forearm. Double triggers, auto safety, and automatic ejectors. Cased in a Brady style canvas & leather case with leather maker’s label and a key!   ***   The gun is in excellent condition inside and out and the action, with scroll engraving had had its color renewed. Fitted with a finely figured stock and finished off with a slim horn heelplate. Mortimer no. 62638 was made in 1895 and weighs 6lb 7oz  ***   The barrels are true inside and out and the bores are perfect. The 30-1/4” barrels highly figured nitro Damascus barrels have been re-browned. They are topped by a raised solid concave gamestyle rib on which is inscribed " Mortimer & Son George St. Edinburgh". The chambers were re-proofed for 2-3/4” cartridges in 2021 in Brimingham. The right barrel is bored 0.729 with a constriction of 0.004 for Skeet choke. Minimum wall thickness is 0.021. The left barrel is bored 0.723 and has a constriction of 0.025 for Modified choke. Minimum wall thickness is 0.028.   ***   The straighthand stock and forearm are made of well figured French walnut. They have been sympathetically cleaned , re-oiled and the checkering cleaned out. Stock dimensions are 14-1/8” including a thin horn heelplate by 1-3/8” by 2”. Cast off for the righthand shot.   ***   Scottish gunmakers are famous for the quality and sheer beauty of their double guns. And the boxlocks are no exception. The good looks and great handling of this Mortimer boxlock ejector make it a gun you will enjoy shooting on game and clays.   ***   Please note that the photographs are part of the description.
