Description:
Holland & Holland .375 H&H Magnum. A "Take Apart" design, rifle number 477 has a 25-inch barrel wearing a banded front sight with button-release folding hood, banded sling swivel stud and a banded island rear sight assembly with a fixed express leaf marked "50/200" and folder marked "350". Based on standard Mauser 98 action with a notched front bridge and a relieved rear bridge, it takes apart in seconds via the large front guard screw. Features include a single crossbolt, reshaped bolt handle, drop box magazine, inside-the-bow floorplate release button, tuned trigger, trapdoor grip cap, ebony forend tip and a scalloped cheek rest. CAPACITY: Five rounds (four plus one). The extractor "snaps over" rounds dropped into the chamber. DIMENSIONS: Weight is 8.8 pounds and the length-of-pull is 14.4 inches. CONDITION: The bore has moderate uniform frosting. A side mount was removed (left receiver wall restored and the stock spliced). Mechanics are solid. As refreshed, metal finish is well over 90 percent. Refinished with recut checkering and a new recoil pad, wood is approximately 85 percent. The price is firm and layaway is available. Trades for fine sporting rifles (particularly customs, rimfires and dangerous game calibers) and handguns will be respectfully considered. $12,500 plus shipping.
