Pre-64 Winchester Model 64 Deluxe Lever Action Rifle, #1119255, .30 W.C.F. (.30-30) cal., 24.5" tapered round barrel, ramped bead front and buckhorn-type rear sights, marked with maker's name/address at right, "Winchester/Proof Steel-Model 64-Winchester/Trade Mark" and cal. at left; half mag. below; receiver has right loading port, top ejection, curved loop operating lever, marked "Winchester/Trade Mark/Made in U.S.A." upper tang, serial number lower front; varnished checkered walnut forend retained by a steel nosecap (with sling stud), matching checkered pistol-grip buttstock with oval hard rubber grip-cap marked "Winchester Repeating Arms. Co.", checkered hard rubber buttplate having circular company logo, sling stud at belly. Mfg'd ca. 1940. Condition is near excellent retaining approx. 95% original deep blue (thinning a bit at receiver sides). Stocks with minor dings and scratches, but with sharp checkering, fine detail on grip-cap and buttplate, pleasing grain and color. There is an approx. 1" crack extending from the buttplate to the sling swivel. Markings and edges are sharp, action crisp, bore is bright with excellent rifling.
