This is a very early and highly desirable Army Colt Model 1911 that was manufactured in 1912! It is original and in very good condition, as many surviving examples are quite worn. The blue rates at about 80-85% with a notable patch of bluing loss on the left side frame/slide, mainspring housing and the high edges of the pistol. The lustrous Colt blue is deep and bright. Early Colt barrel with just a horizontal 'H' on the face of it, as does the frame internally. Bore is excellent with strong rifling. Rare, early 'keyhole' magazine. Gorgeous grips with minor handling wear on the right panel. All around a beautiful example of one the most iconic and collectible US military pistols.
