Shipping is actual cost with a minimum of $30.00 for pistols and $50.00 for rifles/shotguns to ship to most of the 48 contiguous states. Shipping to Alaska may require an extra fee. This is a brand-new Generation 4 Glock G41. The Glock 41 was originally introduced in 2014. One notable advantage of the G41 over most if not all of its competitors is its high magazine capacity. The pistol holds 13 rounds in the mag plus one in the chamber, except for those intended for sale in states which restrict magazine capacity, which hold 10 rounds plus one. Most manufacturers prefer to manufacture just one magazine for their 45s, the 10-rounder, so it can be sold in all states. The only other non-boutique pistols which carry a higher capacity of .45 cartridges are the FNX-45, the new FN545T, and the Para Ordnance P14-45, the latter of which has been out of production for years. The XDM-45 5.25” competition pistol had the same capacity as the G41 but has now been discontinued as well. The idea behind the G41’s existence was that the G21 model was sold on being smaller in overall length than a Model 1911. For example, the G21 has a 4.61-inch-long barrel versus the 1911’s 5” barrel. Obviously, the small difference (0.39 inches) in barrel length does not provide a sufficient difference with respect to muzzle energy or velocity, at least in terms of a self-defense situation. However, this did not stop many from wondering how long a barrel could be used on a Glock pistol if it were allowed to have the same overall length as a 1911. After all, some pistol competitions have size limits on the overall length of a pistol, with the dimensions of the 1911 being the standard by which other pistols were measured. By lengthening the slide and barrel of the G21, the G41 was created for competitive use. At 5.31 inches in length, the barrel of the G41 gains 0.7 inches in length over that of the G21, providing slightly better ballistics. More powder is burned in the barrel rather than being wasted as muzzle flash. Naturally, the pistol comes with the Glock box, 2 spare magazines (for a total of 3), alternate back strap options and the associated extra-long pin, back strap change-out tool, a magazine loading tool, rear sight adjustment tool, the manual, and a cleaning rod and brush.
