Description:
This ensemble was a one-off made by Merkel for the 2003 IWA Show, and they outdid themselves on this one. Bernd Ludwig engraved this sidelock with unique and fantastic gold-inlaid North American game scenes on a French gray background. Besides the engraving, modern Cape guns are rare and I have never seen a sidelock Cape gun by any maker other than W&C Scott. The Cape barrels are 8x57JRS (323) x 20ga-3", 26" with folding leaf for 7lb 3oz; the shotgun barrels are 20ga 3" full/mod 680 (27") for 6lb 3oz. Fancy walnut stock with beavertail forend and German cheekpiece, LOP ? DAH 2 11/16" DAC 1 3/8" neutral cast. Unfired in the original box.
