Description:
LC Smith Hunter Arms 20 gauge FWE Ideal grade, with single non-selective trigger, non-automatic safety, beaver tail forend, 28" barrels choked IM/F, dual white beads, 1 1/2" DAC, single trigger in the middle position, shiny bores in 98% condition, weighing it at 6 lbs, 7 oz., with all matching serials. This gun has been in my personal collection for about 15 years.
I did not do the metal restoration work on this gun, this is how I found it. Here's what I can tell you. Marked 2 3/4" chambers are still that length. The chamber marking on the barrel flat appears to be a factory overstamp. Very possible this gun was sent back to the factory to have its chambers lengthened to 2 3/4" and it was then restamped. Or maybe somebody was just not paying attention at the factory when it was stamped the first time? I will let you come up with your own theory. Barrel blue is an older rust reblue with some nicks and lite scratches, as shown in the pics. Case colors were freshly redone when I acquired it, and it has only been test fired a few times since. The barrels show a somewhat typical amount of exterior riveling down by the muzzle end. I don't believe the stock was cut, at least not significantly. Stocks show some scratches and a few dings, but nothing too terrible, and they all appear to be in the finish rather than into the wood. Silvers style buttpad is new. The typical slight surface cracks behind the locks, which appear to be stable, and rate as fairly minor where an LC Smith is concerned. The ejectors work well, with the right having a bit more power than the left, which is the opposite of how it usually is. Lock up is good and the action is perfectly tight with the forend on. Forend fit is tight, with no wiggle or play. Beyond that, I will let the pics tell the story. This is an opprtunity to own an LC 20 gauge Ideal grade packed with features at a reasonable price. $80 insured USPS express ground shipping to your FFL. Three day non-disassembly, non-firing inspection period runs from receipt by your FFL. Buyer absorbs shipping both ways in event of a return. Let me know if you have any questions or need more pics.
