Guns by Sally-always the best for less. We are over the top proud to offer this stellar example of Winchester's model 1873. She is decked out with XXX walnut, a 2 inch longer than standard barrel, and a single set trigger. No checkering was ordered, which we rarely see with special order walnut. She is chambered in Winchester's own 32-20, which was the only center fire offering that did not have a trap door in the butt plate. She is in great condition. Made in the year of our Lord 1882, it is hard to believe that this rifle is 151 years old. The factory blue is mostly there, some drifting to patina, some losses at carry points and near the muzzle. The wood is truly amazing, with tons of figure, great fit, and only a few scratches and light handling marks. The action is crisp and smooth, and works as designed, including the half cock safety. Even the bore of the 26 inch barrel is good, with plenty of shine and strong rifling. She is fitted with a Lyman deluxe combination folding peep sight, with large and small apetures. The included letter from the fine folks at the Cody Museum verifies the special order wood, longer barrel, and set trigger. The Winchester proof marks on the barrel and receiver tell me that this gun went back to the factory sometime after 1900. Regardless, make no mistake, this is one of the finest Winchesters we have ever offered. The unique combination of special order features is off the charts in the rarity table, and may be the only such 1873 ever made. If you have been looking for the right special order '73 to collect, or for investment, but want the one nobody else has, then look no further.
