Description:
Westley Richards .425 Rimless NE Hammerless Double Ejector rifle completed 14 October 1924 for Goolamhusain Allibhoy & Sons, Bombay.
This is one of only 34 double rifles ever chambered by the firm in its famous .425 Magnum Express.Built on an A&D action with fixed locks, it includes Wesley's snap lever work, Model "C" Doll's Head, "beetle" back non-auto safety, two triggers and disk set strikers.
Engraved on the left side of the action body is a stalking tiger and on the right side a running Indian rhino - with Maker's name engraved below each game scene. Traditional scoll engraving supporting the game scenes and is also on the breech balls, cover plate, guard bow and tang.
The original 26" saddle lump barrels have original Birmingham nitro proofs, are fitted with W.R. patented ejectors (5098/1906) with spring loaded detente for rimless cartridges and a Westley pattern rib and ramp front sight.
As described in the factory ledgers, the rifle has a full pistol grip, with hard rubber grip cap, and an India Hard Rubber butt plate checkered and embossed with the W.R.& co. logo. Traditional sling eyes and blank gold oval.
Complete in a lightweight canvas case with W.R trade label.

Rifle remains excellent as refinished by W.R. sometime in the 1980's or 90's.
Action body recolored, barrel and furniture re-black, re-cut checkering and refinished Stock.
Bores are perfect, barrels are tight on the face.
Included in sale is Westley Richards copy of journal and certificate of authenticity. The rifle, case, turn screws, selvyt cloth and oil bottle but no ammunition.

The buyer of the rifle will have the option to buy reloading components ( Bertram brass cases and both soft and full metal jacket 410gr Woodleigh bullets) and reloading dies if needed, but it is not included in this sale.

This rifle recently took a cape buffalo and is a pleasure to shoot.
