Guns by Sally-always the best for less. We are way proud to offer this Browning Superposed engraved by the legendary master engraver, Arnold Griebel. His work is impeccable, likely because of a combination of talent and many years of full time die engraving. Born way back in 1890, he got his engraving start in Suhl, Germany. After coming to the USA, he worked as a die engraver until 1951, then focused almost entirely on firearms. This shotgun was made in the year of our Lord 1952. She looks great for being 71 years old. The blue is generally strong, with some thinning near the muzzle. The nicely figured and checkered walnut is also good, with only slight handling marks. The bores of the 28 inch vent rib barrels are gleaming, and still choked as per the Browning markings, modified and improved cylinder. She locks up tight, and the lever resides well to the right of center. The stellar engraving is a wonder to behold, and I find new detail every time I look at it. Also, you won't have any trouble finding the artist's signature on this baby. My photos simply don't do justice to this fine engraving. If you like what you see in the photos, you will like it even more with gun in hand. She also sports a single selective trigger, ejectors that toss the empties with authority, and an LOP of 15 inches with pad, 14 inches to the end of the walnut. These early Browning guns are always in demand, with steadily rising values. When you add one of the most famous master engravers to the mix, it only gets better. If you have been looking for the right engraved Superposed to collect, or for investment, but want the added clout of Mr. Griebel, then look no further.
