Description:
This is a really nice early Bullet Mold for the Colt 1849 Pocket Revolver.  The early ones are made of brass with no sprue cutter for .31 Round and Conical Ball.  Top face near the hinge is marked COLT'S PATENT.  The body is in remarkably good condition for being nearly 175 years old and made of brass.  There are a few tap marks and dings from where the original owner was casting lead balls and tapping on the top or the sides to open up the halves but compared to most I've seen, these are pretty minor in comparison.  The cavities are excellent and even the steel hinge pin is not oxidized.  Probably came from a cased set at some point years ago given how sharp it is.  Perfect mold to go back in a case for an early to mid 1850's Model 1849 Pocket Revolver.  $15.00 shipping in lower US 48.
