Description:
Circa 1870's American Rifleman's Bowie Knife. 18" overall length, beautiful tight stag handle secured by rivets. Blade near the grip is 2 3/4" wide and gradually tapers to the point. Smooth steel with a dove-tail age patina. The tooled leather scabbard is fine as well. It has a decorative pattern on the front which I have seen similar on Western holsters of the same period. Reinforced leather band at the throat. Fringe strands at the bottom tip. The back is hand-stitched and the belt loop remains solid and secure. This is a great looking knife and quite impressive. Reasonably priced compared to others. $1,750.00 O.B.O.
