Shipping is actual cost with a minimum of $30.00 for pistols and $50.00 for rifles/shotguns to ship to most of the 48 contiguous states. Shipping to Alaska may require an extra fee. The Ruger LC Charger was introduced in 2023 and is very much a tactical pistol like its cousin the PC Charger. After the success of both the Ruger-5.7 pistol and the LC Carbine, Ruger decided to go and round out the family with a tactical pistol version. You may notice the LC Charger is somewhat reminiscent in size and power to the famous H&K MP7 Personal Defense Weapon or PDW. In a very real sense, the LC Charger is meant to fulfill the same niche that a semi-auto version of the MP7 would (if it existed), especially considering it is chambered for the 5.7x28, a cartridge developed around the PDW concept. Overall, the 5.7x28 is an excellent cartridge and bridges the gap between 22 Magnum and the .223 Remington/5.56mm NATO cartridges. It is very effective against varmints and coyote. Like the LC Carbine, the LC Charger was designed to fulfill a variety of roles such as home defense gun, truck gun, varmint hunting, and plinking gun. The LC Charger offers a large number of desirable features. At a weight of only 66.5 oz., the LC Charger is very light allowing for easy carrying over long distances and quick maneuvering to engage multiple targets at closer ranges. Despite this light weight, the LC Charger has little recoil. Like the Ruger-5.7, the LC Charger has excellent ergonomics built around an easy-to-reach trigger, a 1911-style ambidextrous safety, a small but easy-to-use slide release, and a reversible magazine latch. The rifle uses a unique bolt-over-barrel design to operate. The pistol has a 10.3” nitride-treated steel barrel for strength, accuracy, and a long lifespan. The muzzle is threaded with the usual ½”-28 TPI, allowing the rifle to mount a wide variety of popular accessories. The back of the receiver has an integral picatinny rail for the mounting of various accessories. The 20-round magazines are made of steel rather than polymer to provide a high capacity without too much bulk. For improved safety, the LC Charger makes use of Ruger’s Secure Action™ fire-control system which combines a protected internal hammer with a bladed-safety trigger. The trigger is designed to have a smooth pull with a clean break and a positive reset. The CNC-milled handguard features M-LOK accessory attachment slots and is finished with a Type III hard-coat anodized finish for high resistance to the elements. The long picatinny rail up top allows for the fitting of a nice optic, a nice set of sets, or both. Overall, the LC Charger is an excellent pistol suitable for a wide range of tasks. This brand new handgun comes with the factory box, paperwork, and one 20-round magazine.
