It replaced the previous model 1816 musket, and often is viewed as a further development of that design. One of the most noticeable differences in the Model 1822 is the attachment of the lower sling swivel. The forward part of the trigger bow was provided with an enlargement which was drilled to receive the sling swivel rivet. Previously, the sling swivel had been affixed to a stud in front of the trigger bow. This particular gun is in excellent condition with clear marks. The bore is as you wolud expect. The lock function is correct and crisp. The lock and barrel are both dated 1832. It is not a reconversion. $2400 Shipped to the lower 48 Price: $2,400.00 Antique: Yes Manufacturer: Whitney Arms Model: 1822 Barrel Length: 42 Condition: Excellent Wood Condition: Excellent Weight: 10 lbs.
