Description:
*** PRICE REDUCED *** This beautiful Mauser Type S Carbine has survived 109 years in remarkable condition, no doubt a treasured heirloom. It was manufactured in Oberndorf, Germany, in 1914, around the beginning of WWI.
Its’ Mannlicher style stock is capped with a Horn Schnabel fore tip and it has a second Schnabel in the middle of the forearm. A metal cap protects the pistol grip.
The metal parts are blue, with no signs of past or present corrosion. All parts are matching numbers and Crown/B and Crown/U proof marks are clearly shown. All other factory markings, including those hidden by the stock are clearly shown. The front sight base is soldered on, and a folding leaf rear sight is mounted near the rear of the barrel. A Lyman aperture sight has been added at some point in history.
This rifle is remarkably light weight at only 6lbs 14oz. Being unsure of the caliber markings, I had a chamber cast done to establish that it is 8X57mm. The book “Original Oberndorf Sporting Rifles” by Jon Speed was used as a reference source for this rifle. This is a beautiful Classic Mauser sporting rifle that would grace the finest collection and still pay for itself in the field.

RETURNS:
Returns must be made within 3 days of receipt. They must be received in exactly the same condition with no parts exchanged. If it has been altered, damaged, or fired, a refund will not be made. Packing, shipping and insurance cost will not be refunded. All layaway purchases are returnable for merchandise credit only.
PAYMENT:
Bank check, Personal check, and Money Orders are preferred. Visa and MasterCard are accepted with a 4% processing fee. Checks, both Bank and Personal must clear before the order will be shipped, usually a 2 week delay.
LAYAWAYS:
A 20% deposit is required. Balance is due in 30 days. Deposits are non-refundable and are forfeited after 40 days. Layaway sales are returnable for merchandise credit only.
SALES TAX:
Pennsylvania state sales tax is 6% for in state purchases. The payment of other states sales tax, if applicable, for shipped items is the buyers responsibility.
