The Model 1911 Colt Deluxe Commemorative, WWI Series Battle of the Marne, was made in 1968.  There were 7,500 made (serial number range: 1M2 to 7500M2) . The 1911 pistols were standard Government Models with roll engraving on the slide and unique wood grips inlayed with medallions and a plague on the left grip.  The Deluxe models were enhanced with attractive hand engraving on the slide and frame and a gold filled serial number.  This pistol retaining 98%+ of its original blue finish, with a new condition bore and perfectly functioning action.  A good looking Colt 1911. No presentation case.
