Description:
This is a full box, 20 rounds, of .44-60 ammunition manufactured by Winchester. The two piece green box with early "Central Fire" designation dates to the 1880's and is the only listed for this caliber in the Giles and Shuey book One Hundred Years of Winchester Cartridge boxes, 1856-1956. The box has the "FOR REMINGTON RIFLE" call out on the side along with the un-headstamped cartridge cut. The box is solid with staining and flaking to the green and black primary label with about 80% of the side reloading label remaining. The cartridges all bear the "W.R.A. Co. / 44-60" head stamps and are in very good to excellent condition with some having age splits on the case heads extending down the side about ?? inch.
