Description:
This is an 84 Gauge paper wrapped skin Revolver cartridge manufactured by Eley in London and marked as such in orange paper on the bottom. In excellent condition it measures roughly .39 inches in diameter and 1.375 inches in length and has the characteristic cloth tear strip. Imported by the Confederacy in quantity during the Civil war this cartridge would fit the Tranter or Adams revolver. For reference see Round Ball to Rimfire Vol. 4 p177.
