Description:
This is a rare example of a US Model 1903 rifle equipped with a Warner & Swasey Model 1913 Musket Sight. These styles of rifles were used by the US Army during WW1. The metal on the rifle is well-worn and still retains some of its original finish but there is patina throughout. The stock has been sanded and there is a "WJS" Stamped on the left side. The bore is bright but it is frosted towards the muzzle. The Warner & Swasey scope is in good condition for its age and has a lot of finish loss on the main body of the scope. Looking through the lens, it is slightly fogged but there is debris that is visible around the reticle which is common for these optics as they age. The inside of the scope was painted and would flake off with age. The rubber eyepiece to the scope is missing.
