Jean Tanazacq is one of the most illustrious French cutlery artisans. His productions all exude a very strong personality, superb ergonomics, and they are closer to a piece of art than a knife. HIs leather scabbards are some of the finest and strongest ever offered by any knifemakers. You're looking at Jean Tanazacq's exceptional and extremely rare "Natchez Bowie" made in 1980 witt the rarely seen two markings on blade ( Map of France and wild boar). first such model to be constructed. Blade is 11-3/8" by 1-3/4" by well over 3/8" steel stock. Rosewood handle, extra large brass guard and matching brass butt cap. Contained in the original brown leather scabbard bearing the scarce wild boar carving. After 1984 any knives made byTanazacq were only stamped with the wild boar logo. Only two such models were ever produced between 1980 and 1984. The shown model is the one used in the original 1980 advertising (ncluded in the sale).  No trade.
