Description:
The item for sale is an Antique Cartridge Money Belt. The belt is in high condition and probably made in the 1880 - 1890 time period. This is a high quality belt featuring dark brown grained leather which is soft and supple with a Calfornia clip point buckle. The belt features 41 loops for 44/45 cartridges. All of the stitching is excellent with the exception of the first loop on one end and the last two loops on the other end with loose thread as shown in the photo. There is no damage to the belt surviving for possibly 150 years in remarkable condition. There are no repairs to the belt and it is in original condition without modifiications. The belt is stamped in two places " R.S.C." which we believe refers to the maker rather than the owner of the belt. It also has "941" and "6" stamped as shown in the photos.
The belt is 47" overall length. It is 43" in length for the wide portion of the belt. The width of the belt is 3" with 41 loops for cartridges.
