Here is an interesting one for you antique rifle collectors, a Holden Open frame.44 Rimfire rifle. These were manufactured for use in the civil war by the Holden manufacturing company, stamped on the barrel is " Holdens Patent April 1862". As far as research, I could find very little information, other than less than 200 manufactured for the Union army. It is in excellent condition considering that it is a rifle that is 160 years old! Everything functions as it should, the bore is actually in very good shape, action performs like it should. The sights are in good shape, rear ladder is complete and functions.This is the iron frame model and it was originally nickeled with traces of nickel in places, displays the serial number 69 on the locking lever.
