Description:
This is an original U.S. embossed leather model 1896 cartridge box for the Colt .38 Caliber military revolvers Models 1896-1905. Stamped with the arsenal, date and inspectors mark "ROCK ISLAND / ARSENAL / 1908 T.C.C.." In excellent condition the leather remains supple and has intact stitching. Included is the wood block insert along with 12 original rounds of correctly head stamped military ammunition from several different period correct lots. An excellent example of the M1896 cartridge box that will add to any military or Colt collection.
